The Mimic Hotel is a different experience. Luminosity and originality combined with a modern and cosy decor. New Hotel opened in July 2010. Next to Las Ramblas and the Port of Barcelona, with unbeatable communications. The Hotel Acta Mimic is a hotel of 92 rooms located in the Ciutat Vella of Barcelona, in the old Teatro Colon, next to Las Ramblas, the Port of Barcelona and the Avenida Paral.lel theaters. Its innovative design and modern facilities spread over 5 floors for bedrooms, another plant of 600 m2 that houses the restaurant with courtyard garden and sitting area. The hotel has 15 parking spaces with direct access from the hotel elevator and a terrace on the top floor where you can relax with spectacular views of the port of Barcelona, monument to Columbus and the mountain of Tibidabo. In the rooms of the innovative Hotel Acta Mimic, join the relax and bathing area in a single space, avoiding the division of the room in classic compartments. The shower is located on the facade, giving the room a lot more light and space than usual, making this moment of relaxation with natural light a unique experience. To differentiate the resting spaces with the showers we use curtains, which give the space a greater flexibility of use.

  • Negative: Su ubicación: Por la noche el barrio no es demasiado seguro, incluso hay vagabundos durmiendo en la entrada del hotel, incluso hay botellón. De noche no lo recomendaría. Ninguna habitación tiene vistas a NADA.

Nadie nos dió una soución, unicamente nos subieron unas toallas para que nosotros lo secáramos y fueran empapando el agua. durante toda la noche no paró de caer agua. Fue dificil dormir.

  • Positive: The staff were very helpful in all areas, from checkin/checkout, breakfast requests and wifi. We were given 3 maps of Barcelona at checkin!! The rooms were large enough for a weekend stay, clean and nicely arranged and decorated. The "rain" shower was particularly nice, and the towels big and fluffy. Air con was a welcome inclusion, and a flat screen tv on the wall (even though we did not use it). Also plenty of plug sockets (a big plus) Very pleasant common areas, with large lounge and breakfast areas including a very nice outdoor breakfast terrace. Location was 5 minutes from Line 3, Las Ramblas and the beach. The price was great compared to other hotels in the area.
  • Negative: Hard to fault it without seeming picky. Colour scheme is based around black, which can be a little dark in some places, especially in the corridors. Rooms are not very big and you would struggle a bit for space for all your things for a longer stay than a weekend. Maybe a little more difficult to find than some hotels in Barcelona. Its quite new and our taxi driver had not heard of it. The street name was also miss spelled on the confirmation email, which didn't help. They have lockers to keep your bags in on the day of check out. The €2 charge seemed a bit strange when you consider how much you pay per night, it would be better to include the service for free. Also the lockers filled up quickly and could cause a problem if there wasn't any spare left. It begged the question about how they handle early checkin, if you turn up early and want to leave your bags with the hotel. I think the usual method of keeping bags in a room with a concierge looking after them is a tried and tested method that works, and I also think that using lockers brings down the category/overall feel of the hotel a bit.
