• Positive: Great location. Unfortunately, they stuck us in an interior room. My in-laws had a room on the square. Request a room on the square as it makes a huge difference.
• Negative: They charge you to use the safe. Unsure how it works since ours didn't and they still wanted to charge us. However, they did remove the charge for which we were very grateful.

• Quietness: 5 Depends where the room is. We were right on the Puerta del Sol, so it was rather noisy at night, although the windows do a pretty good job of keeping out much of the noise. If you are a light sleeper, take earplugs, or specify a room not on the street side!

• Positive: MY family and I had a wonderful experience at the Europa. The room was adequate size for the 3 of us. The staff in the lobby and cafe were all exceptional. They were very helpful and insightful. If we are ever in Madrid again we will most definitely stay there.
• Negative: Difficult to control the temperature in the room.

• Negative: The hidden charges... I rang the hotel the day before I arrived and asked if there was internet in the rooms and if there was a charge for it? They told me there was internet in the rooms and that it was free. When we got there we found there wasn't any internet. When we rang reception the told us you need to be connected to the LAN so we needed a cable when I asked where the cable was I was told u have to rent it for 2 euro a day! I was disgusted. It wasn't that they were charging for internet it was the fact I had rang and the told me it was free. If they had of told me I needed to rent a cable I would have brought one! Also the price of the room did not include tax so when you get your final bill it is higher than what you expect. It is very expensive for what you get the room ended up being 99 euro a night room only!
