This hotel is located in a square only 50 metres from Las Ramblas, in a lovely refurbished convent dating from 1720. The hotel is actually the oldest in the city and has been functioning since 1840. It enjoys a tranquil location, in a little square, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Las Ramblas. This is an ideal spot from which to explore Barcelona on foot. It is adjacent to the Liceu Theatre and La Boquieria Market. In the surrounding area there is parking, 80 metres from the hotel. The area also boasts excellent public transport connections (bus as well as metro). The nearest metro station is Liceu. A complete breakfast is included in the room rate.

  • Location: 10 Great location near las ramblas but the bums and panhandlers outside are intimidating
  • Common facilities and services: 7.5 Nice overall but the bar was never open which meant the terrace was rarely open so one had to go out to the plaza for fresh air and risk the bums and panhandlers.
  • Staff: 5 Not very friendly at all
  • Quietness: 10
  • Room: 5 200 euros a night for nasty bedding
  • Value for money: 2.5 Felt it was high but it was a two-room suite in a great location so I can't complain too much
