Miramar Hotel is one of the crown jewels, a magnificent historic building restored to be experienced in an exceptional manner: innovation and comfort beyond luxury. From our premises you can discover marvellous views over the city and the Mediterranean Sea, in a unique setting. Miramar Hotel retains the original facade of the old palace that Alfonso XIII opened on the mountain of Montjuïc, for the Barcelona Universal Exhibition in 1929. The area that was landscaped during the Exhibition, which surrounds the hotel and most of Montjuïc, was designed by Forestier and the vegetation consists mostly of Mediterranean species. In 1959 the building was the home to the Studios of Spanish Radio and Television, until they moved to Sant Cugat in 1983, at which point the Palace fell into disuse until its recent transformation by the architect Oscar Tusquets Blanca.

  • Positive: La ubicación. Y la gestión del departamento de reservas que ha garantizado mi petición de terraza con vista al mar. Y atención durante el desayuno, donde estuvieron más que pendientes de nuestras necesidades.
  • Negative: Soy plenamente conciente de la situación COVID. Sin embargo, la gestión de la reserva del desayuno no me ha parecido correcta. Al hacer el check-in a las 16hrs, me indicaron que sólo había disponibilidad para desayunar a las 7.45am, lo cual no se adaptaba a mis necesidades. Intenté buscar alternativas (room-service, devolución del importe pagado por el desayuno o bajar y retirarlo yo misma en persona), sin embargo, todas fueron denegadas, por lo que resolví quedarme sin desayuno. Sorprendentemente, a los pocos minutos de haber ingresado a la habitación, se comunicaron de recepción para ofrecernos el turno de las 9.15hrs que, por supuesto, aceptamos. Y más sorprendemente aún, la pareja que ingresó justo antes que nosotros al desayuno del día siguiente, lo hizo sin reserva. Inevitablemente pensé en la experiencia durante el check-in, la repercusión que habría tenido en mi estadía si hubiera aceptado el turno de las 7.45hrs, etc. Repito, entiendo la situación COVID pero me parece que ofrecer como única alternativa una hora (muy temprana) no es lo que ningún huésped esperaría de un fin de semana de descanso dentro de su misma ciudad. Por otro lado, la descripción de la habitación incluia bañera. Sin embargo, no fue así.
